Application of Different Coagulants and Cost Evaluation for the Treatment of Oil and Gas Produced Water

A coagulation treatment is a separation technology widely used in industries as pre-treatment step to remove the dissolved organic matter wastewater. However, type of coagulant, optimized dose, and cost associated with various commercially employed coagulants must be investigated for oil gas produced water. In this study, five coagulants—ferric chloride, aluminum potassium sulphate, chitosan, sodium sulfide, magnesium oxide—were tested actual complex oilfield-generated Water quality parameters such total suspended solids (TSS), (TDS), turbidity, salinity, pH were assessed better understanding different coagulant activities against water treatment. All efficient The findings study showed that ferric chloride led best removal (74.25%) all parameters, costs USD 4 per m−3 results from contribute environmentally friendly, broader, cost-effective application
